The original estate was the marriage of two large tracts of land in the 1920’s. John Cain of Cain’s Mayonnaise developed the land into a 600 acre prized dairy farm which the Cain family maintained through the mid 1950’s. Subsequent owners subdivided the land and in 1980 Tim and Helene Guinee purchased the original estate house and 36 acres. In 1982, together with their children, they planted the 1300 tree orchard which features a variety of apples, peaches and Asian pears. Named to reflect an Irish farming heritage, Connemara House provides a bounty of fresh fruit to Topsfield and the surrounding towns of the North Shore.

For over 20 years, our family has welcomed the public to our orchard on fall weekends to pick apples, peaches and pears.  For many, it has become a family tradition to spend a day relaxing in the peaceful setting, sipping fresh pressed cider, enjoying a picnic by the pond and tossing the football around with friends.   With the establishment of Connemara House as a premiere wedding and event venue, we are expanding our agritourism footprint.  Committed to a farm-to-table philosophy, everything offered here is fresh, local, sustainable and delicious!
